About Sherry

It was early in 1999, I was exhausted. I had spent the afternoon with a dear friend and colleague. He was young, handsome, popular and very intelligent. He had also just been diagnosed with cancer. For hours he talked, I listened, we cried, we sat in silence. I went home that day stunned, drained and absolutely frustrated. I knew that I couldn’t change his diagnosis, but I was sure that I could have done more than just sit there. It felt as if there was a knowledge that was just out of sight, veiled. I knew it was there, but I had no clue what it was.

It always tickles me when the universe steps in to tap me on the shoulder and point me in the right direction. Okay, so sometimes it takes a lot more than just a gentle tap. Either way I had an appointment to see a numerologist friend of mine the following morning, you know, just out of curiosity. Sandy asked me if my hands got hot. They certainly did and often! I had avoided shaking people’s hands for years as I wasn’t sure what was going on. She suggested that I look into hands-on healing, channeling energy. Later that day I found a book on energy healing. Once I started reading it, it felt as if I had come home after a long, long walk in the darkness.

So for the better part of a decade I’d been reading about, studying and practicing various forms of energy work: hands-on healing, auric healing, chakra balancing, Reiki, reflexology, Indian head and shoulder massage … therapies that turned out to be a brilliant foundation for what happened next… I was introduced to Taoist Massage in 2006.

Wow! That was more than the universe just giving me a gentle tap on the shoulder. I’m sure that the solid shove left imprints on my back! In that moment I knew that this was the work I needed to do. It affirmed that I was where I was meant to be on the path that I am meant to travel.

I love what I do and I’m grateful that I can do what I love.
